From the time she could talk, Madison has asked to add rabbits to our farm. Finally, in 2018, she got her wish, and we started our rabbit adventure with four velvety soft mini rex rabbits. Shortly after that, American Chinchillas joined the rabbitry. All of our kids have shared in the excitement of raising and showing their own rabbits.
We sell pedigreed purebred Mini Rex and American Chinchilla rabbits to others for breeding and show. We also offer healthy, well socialized pet Mini Rex as we have them available.
Our kids enjoy exhibiting their rabbits at both ARBA and 4-H shows.
American Chinchillas are a commercial type rabbit with beautiful rollback fur and a laid back temperament. Their chinchilla colored coat has beautiful bands of grey, white and black on each hair shaft and give a wavy appearance to the coat.
They mature between 10 and 11 pounds, and offer an economical protein source that is easily raised in a small footprint. They are productive rabbits, breeding readily and easily raising 8-10 kits in each litter.
Our American Chinchillas have done quite well in 4-H as well as ARBA youth shows. We have found them to be a wonderful addition to our farm and often have pedigreed breeding stock as well as freezer rabbits available.
Our program focuses on self, otter, and silver marten varieties in solid and broken. This means our rabbits come in white as well as an assortment of solid colors, white with colored patches, and solid colors with markings on the belly, and around the ears, eyes, nose, mouth and chin.
Our kids have successfully exhibited their Mini Rex at local 4-H fairs as well as ARBA Youth shows. We often have pedigreed Mini Rex available that are suitable as breeding animals or as show prospects. Since not all Mini Rex are of high enough quality (or small enough size) to have successful show career, we also offer a number of Mini Rex for placement into loving pet homes.
